Philosophy

Team building, trust & fairness

Circus Montelino's circus education work combines athletic ability, art and poetry. Our circus work is geared towards team building, trust and fairness. The focus is shifted away from competitive behaviour and towards mutual complementarity, togetherness and mutual appreciation. The physical and sporting aspects of circus work have a health-preventive function. We offer space for creative and joyful movement experiences, for complex coordination exercises and whole-body balances. The physical proximity of circus arts constantly raises new questions about how we treat each other.

“Take people as they are, there are no others.” (Konrad Adenauer)

Circus combines individual characteristics and skills, disciplined group work and the collective organisation of complex processes. As a popular art form, circus invites people to participate: it connects and offers a variety of spaces for manual work, for technical and creative matters, it is based on communication and on the trust of the actors in one another. Our aim is to build a "circus village" - a place for professional social-educational and cultural inclusion work, a place for social networking and encounters without exclusion.
